(Correct) 2. on pins and needles A would-be singer was on tenterhooks waiting for a letter from that recording company. NOTE: There is no ''on' pins and needles'. It is a physical effect from blood and oxygen reduction in muscles. 3. an arm and a leg The travel expenses cost her parents an arm and a leg. (Correct) 4. give one's all That footballer gave his all in every game in spite of being injured. (Nearly perfect) 5. hit a brick wall I feel like I've hit a brick wall in my language progress for ages! (Correct) (Hint: see a real teacher/tutor if you do feel this...:-))
