Hi everyone, I’m Brian McFadden: I'm 31 and have two BA degrees from UC Berkeley in German and Philosophy and I have a masters degree in Classical Languages (Ancient Greek and Latin) from the University of Chicago. I was born and raised in Southern California and am a native speaker of English. I studied Spanish, German, Latin, and Ancient Greek in college.عني كمعلّم
I have been a language tutor for over eight years and have had students from a variety of ages and backgrounds. I’m interested in incorporating linguistics and precise definitions into my lessons in order to have my students learn their target language comprehensively and easily.دروسي وأسلوب تدريسي
My teaching mostly involves giving my students a handful of words from the target language and having them use those words to speak in complete sentences. We then gradually build on these sentences by adding new words and grammatical concepts throughout the lesson. Additionally, I incorporate listening, reading, and writing through audio clips and music, reading quotes from famous authors, and writing exercises.موادي الخاصة بالتدريس

He is excellent tutor for explaining pronunciation, and is very detailed about describing how languages work from a scientific perspective. Very in depth and descriptive on how to translate and read German.

Today was my first class with Brian and I thoroughly enjoy the lesson. He came across as a very a well organized, prepared and attentive teacher, who gave many examples that helped my understanding. I am fully aware that learning Ancient Greek will be a hard endeavour but I feel more reassured knowing that there will be more lessons with Brian. I'm looking forward to them!

Brian knows his grammar! What was amazing to me is how he was able to take his vast knowledge of the language and present it in a form understandable for a 9 year old. Very very helpful, and the grammar explanations and direct instruction are exactly what she needs. Thank you!
