Certified TEFL teacher and degree holder with over 2 and a half years experience in online teaching. As a teacher, my goal is to help you improve your overall language skills. I believe that everyone has the capability to learn a new language other than their native language, and flourish while doing it. As a teacher, I am student focused and will cater to each students' needs individually. I'm also a patient and friendly teacher, so students can feel at ease when they talk to me. I am a Afrikaans Teacher and a active listener with a lot of patience. My approach to teaching will be to guide you step by step if situations arise in the conversation. My belief is to teach practically, by using physical things to explain new grammar. Every person is unique in their way, and that is why everyone needs to be taught practically. Some students are quick learners and others slow. My focus will be to teach my students a new Afrikaans word every time just before they say goodbye, hopefully, he/she will remember it.

I am a compassionate Teacher and will do my best to make students feel more comfortable with a unfamiliar language. As I am a language enthusiast I will make sure I learn from my students and learn with them as well. Learning will be fun and informative at the same time.

Initially with a new student I would start off with general conversation in order to gauge your specific needs. Once we have determined those needs, with both your own and my input in the discussions I will progress to more structured lesson plans. I am patient, helpful and friendly with a wicked sense of humour... I am not overly sensitive to criticism from students, which makes it a lot easier for students to be comfortable in indicating their personal requirements for learning from me – in fact I aim to learn as much from my students as they learn from me.

I have been teaching languages since the age of 19 and have a lot of experience dealing with different types of people. I do have a lot of material prepared and I make it available to my students via email, Skype and WhatsApp. I am very organized, but the three decades of teaching experience allows me to 'go with the flow' if needs be.
