Personal & Professional | Passionate & Patient | Quality & Affordable | Exam & Integration As a language teacher, I felt more and more disconnected from the content and the methods I was using to teach: dry, fake textbook conversations, uninspiring homework exercises and whatnot… So I began designing classes with the clear intention to make them genuinely fun and exciting for the students. The excitement would become the fuel for their progress, especially on the long term. I'm also amazed by how children learn their native language. They go from absolute zero to a native speaker in a very short amount of time. But what’s most surprising to me is this: We don’t even have to explain grammar to children explicitly, yet they absorb these patterns naturally, intuitively over time.

Language learning needs structure, humour, and the right kind of obsession. I bring all three. I’ve taught Dutch and French in secondary school, and German and Dutch in adult education. I’ve been tutoring since I was a student myself — in law, languages, and study skills. My lessons are conversation-based, flexible, and adapted to your needs. I won’t give you a step-by-step textbook course — instead, I’ll coach you through real-life communication, at your level and pace. I don’t teach Dutch from scratch, but if you already speak a little, I’ll help you build fluency, confidence, and clarity. Because language is a skill — and you only learn it by using it.

I accept that there;s multiple learning styles and only use those which are effective to people. I'm very patient, kind, but can also be strict when necessary. Because sometimes you just need a little nudge in the right direction. I will use lots of humor in my classes, am accustomed to working with children as well, and am able to motivate you to continue even when things look tough.

I'm waiting to enhance your (Belgian) Dutch flow :) I've been regularly teaching, tutoring and conversing with language students from all over the world since the past few years. In the meantime (July 2022) I finished a teacher training, specifically focused on language teaching. In January 2023, I even launched a complete self-paced video course for beginners of Dutch with 14 hours of content + exercises.

Let's just talk in 4 languages about your topics of interest. Grammar is minimized. Rather than "understanding", far better is to get the feeling for what sounds good or not. It's all a question of transferring this feeling to you, in any of the languages I am fluent in for so long already.

I find learning languages quite fun and if you share any of my passions, then we can make the learning process equally fun for both of us. Just like how eyes are the window to the soul; language is the window to the soul of a nation. Through the language you can understand a country's people and through understanding them you get a grasp of their language too. :) I'm very patient and will listen to your needs & adjust myself to your speed and level while learning.
