I am a native English speaker born and raised in the USA. I admire everyone here in this community because they are learning a new language. I speak English almost flawlessly with the accent one hears on American television but that is where my language skills end. I would love to learn a new language but my brain does not share the same passion as my heart. I am an extrovert and love learning about other people, cultures and lands. I look forward to acquiring new language skills while getting to know new people.

    Sugar Daddies are rich older men that take care of beautiful younger women by providing money and/or homes and other luxury items. So in this context it is saying that while the men have some assets they also owe a lot of money so they must have a secret (hiding in the bushes) person giving them money. What the “sugar daddy” is is the mystery. Obviously it isn’t an actual sugar daddy but it is some unknown way these men are making money.

    Thank you Felipe and Rosa. My kids are 6 and 9. They have been watching a show in French or Spanish every day for years but I haven’t seen any improvement. They have also been to a two week French camp and 2 week Spanish camp. They do Spanish Rosetta Stone and French apps but still no improvement (sadly I think they take after me with not learning other languages well). I’ll ask “Hablas Espanol?” Or Parle vous Francaise? and they have NO idea what I’m talking about.

    Rosa, I’ll definitely check out those YouTube channels. I just found Plaza Sesamo on Amazon Prime and there is an accompanying website with games so I’m hoping that will help for Spanish too.

    I’m so desperate that I’m looking into flights and an extended stay Puerto Rico to see if I can’t immerse them in Spanish. It just won’t be easy or cheap but that is the closest Spanish speaking nation and it is a commonwealth to the USA so no passport needed.

    Resources for kids I am hoping to find some language resources for my children. I would like them to start with French and Spanish. All the kids’ foreign language websites in the United States are for native English speaking children wanting to learn a second language. These are either expensive or not very good. I would like to find French or Spanish websites for children whose first language is French or Spanish. Websites that help kids learn colors, to read, count, etc. In the US we have lots of great sites like these (abcmouse.com is a popular one). Does anyone know of great sites like this but in Spanish or French?

    I always think of the word murder in reference to people. The word murder seems to include a moral and legal action which the word killing doesn’t necessarily include.

    Those are all  great reasons. ITalki inspires me to keep finding a way to teach my young children a new language. I also like that it helps the whole world to interact.

    I would concentrate on learning to speak it not read/write it because it is a confusing language. I’ve heard people learn it quickly by finding YouTube videos of things that interest them. Also apparently playing video games helps (don’t ask me why). When I was young a lot of children would learn English fairly quickly by watching TV shows. I hope it goes well for you!

    A comparative study of animals to show how human’s space requirements are influenced by the environment. In animals we can observe the direction, rate and extent of behavioral changes in reference to a change of spatial parameters that we cannot not do with humans. Using animals, in effect, it is possible  to accelerate time due to the fact that animal generations are relatively short. Over forty years scientists can observe four hundred forty generations of mice while in the same time span in which they can only observe two generations of humans. Also, scientists can be more detached about the fate of the animal.

    There are so many mistakes here that I cannot understand even a word!
