0 قاموا بالتصويت٥ مايو ٢٠١٥0- It´s quite difficult to find a rule here but I´ll try to explain it. When you are describing how you are physically or in a behaviour aspect you will use SER. In the other hand if you are saying how you are currently you will use ESTAR. I´m going to show you with examples: I´m handsome = Soy guapo I´m older than you = Soy más mayor que tú I´m smart = Soy inteligente I´m ok = Estoy bien I´m tired = Estoy cansado I´m dating her = Estoy quedando con ella I´m running = Estoy corriendo Am I wrong? = Estoy equivocado? When you say "I´m 22 years old" you must say in spanish: Tengo 22 años. Is like I have got 22 years old, but we don´t have a SER o ESTAR form when we are talking about how old are we. - None of them are or none of them is? and an other question. Neither of us is or Neither of us are? "Both" is for only two people and "all of" is for three or more people. These words always go with "are" isn´t it? But when you are saying "none of" or "neither of" what do these words go with? plural or singular?٢٩ أبريل ٢٠١٥40
- What´s up people! New spanish on italki. Well, I´m new here in this kind of websites. As I could see everyone write about theirselves and other people correct them so I want to try and tell something about myself. I´m Víctor and I´m 22 years old. I´m here to practice my english skills in order to improve because I´m about to go abroad to Denmark next Autumn. Currently I´m studying Building Engineering and I´m about to finish it so I will go to denmark because one of my goals is to expand my knowledge in the sustainable buildings. As you may know sustainable houses are the future of the construction so that´s why I want to learn some more about this area. I will do there a specialisation about Energy Design in the Civil Engineering Degree. I´m friendly, funny and if you want to know something more about me or you just want to practice spanish text me. I forgot to say that I´m from Madrid and of course I support the Real Madrid haha. I like football as much as I like basketball. Imagine that yesterday you were trying to find someone and you couldn´t find him, so If you see him today you will ask him "Dónde estabas ayer? No te encontré". But if you just want to know where were him because you just want to know what he was doing with his friends or something you will ask "dónde estuviste" in order to know where were he.
An other way to use "estaba" and estuve" is the following. If you are explaining something happened in past for example: I was walking down the street when I saw Peter, in spanish you will say "Estaba caminando por la calle cuando vi a Peter" but if you are explaining the place where you were at, you will say "estuve". For example, We were at the beach on Friday. In spanish you will say "Estuvimos en la playa el viernes".
