    そうですね。最初は「全滅」の「滅」と思いましたが、辞書に探したと、正しい漢字を見つけました。どうしてもう一度間違ってしまったか分かりません。とても似ていますね。直してくれてありがとう!

Hello, I think I have an idea of why you might be confused by "how do you think" vs "what do you think", you can use "do you think" to make a question less direct. "think" and "suppose" are interchangeable, and the question word (who/what/where/why/when) comes from the original question: "What will they do to fix the economy?" => "What do you think they will do to fix the economy?" 経済を直すために何をしますか? => 経済を直すために何をするでしょうか?/何をすると思いますか? "Where did he go last week?" => "Where do you think he went last week?" 先週どこに行きましたか? => 先週どこに行ったでしゅうか? "How will they fix the economy" => "How do you think they will fix the economy?" "When will dinner be ready?" => "When do you think dinner will be ready?" "Why did he leave" => "Why do you think he left?" You can replace "do you think" with "do you suppose" in any of these ("where do you think they went?", "where do you suppose they went?"). I think it's a dialect thing, I almost always use "think". Someone speaking the American Southern dialect might use "reckon" ("Where do you reckon they went?")

In American English, "fries" are "French fries", deep fried potatoes usually cut into strips, like you find at McDonalds and other restaurants. "chips" or "potato chips" are thinly sliced potatoes that come in a bag. You can usually find these in grocery stores and vending machines. In British English, they say "chips" instead of "fries", and "crisps" instead of "chips". In both dialects, fries and chips (or chips and crisps) are thought of as completely different things, even though they are both made from potatoes.

会う uses に to mark who you are meeting, so you would use 友達に会う to mean "meet a friend". に has many meanings beyond place, in this case it's more like the goal. 会う is an intransitive verb, so you can't use を. With japanese verbs, it is a good idea to use a dictionary that has example sentences. There are some verbs with very odd particles. wwwjdic is a good online dictionary with examples - http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/cgi-bin/wwwjdic.cgi?1Q%B2%F1%A4%A6_1_

ASL (or sometimes a/s/l) stands for Age, Sex, Location. It used to be a common question in internet chat, but now I think people use it as a joke. An answer might look like: 27/m/seattle (27 years old, male, living in seattle).

It is an idiom meaning "I don't understand this". I would use it when something is written in English but I don't understand it because it uses too many technical terms. This page has has some translations of the phrase (I don't know if they are correct): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_to_me 看起來像天書。/看起来像天书 聽起來像鳥語。/ 听起来像鸟语 聽起來像火星話。/听起来像火星话

In this case, "blues" means sadness or depression. Like in old rock songs ("don't be cruel to a heart that's blue"). So in the article they are probably referencing fathers getting a depression after their wife has had a baby. They're also making a pun, though. "Baby Blue" is a light shade of blue, and is often used to describe blue eyes ("his baby blue eyes", or just "baby blues" for short).
