I am a university graduate and am intending to apply for the Japan Exchange and Teaching programme (JET) this year. I wish to learn some basic Japanese in order to properly prepare. My current ability in Japanese is still very basic. I know a few words and some grammar. Recently I successfully memorised Hiragana and currently learning Katakana. Additionally I've practiced writing the kanji for numbers. こんいちは、わたしのなまえはルーイーです！ As English is my first language, I can aid you in improving your grammar, expanding your vocabulary, enhancing your writing as well as tutoring you in pronunciation. My hobbies and interests include drama, television (including anime), video games, reading and creative writing. I have began writing my own blog focused on video game journalism. Visiting the shrine for the first time
I went to "Hatsumoude" today with my boyfriend.
It is my first time visiting the shrine in a year. <strike>especially since January.</strike> - Unnecessary
I prayed for good health and <strike>good</strike> luck with my studies.
Then, we picked "Omikuji." which is paper that shows how my year will go.
It was "Quite Good."
When it comes to illness, it says "You'll recover from it."
I hope I will not experience any pain with my lower back.

Nothing comes out of anger.
I sometimes get angry while working.
I know that nothing comes out of anger.
But I feel frustration towards other people once in a while.

I've come to like boiling <strike>an</strike> aroma oil.
Recently, I bought a humidifier with an aroma oil boiling function.
It's so good <strike>item</strike>.

I boiled a lemongrass aroma oil one morning.
And then I felt better and got some energy.

I boiled a lavender aroma oil one night.
And then I felt relaxed and got sleepy.

Using this thing has became a habit of mine.

I'm writing this diary while boiling lemongrass aroma oil.

Good, you mainly need to work on tenses.
You can use the '-ed' suffix with many verbs in order to make them past tense (things that have already happened).
For example, 'boil' on its own is used for sentences in the future tense. Add '-ed' to make 'boiled', which is past tense. You can also add this suffix to 'relax', as I did in my correction.
Keep in mind that not every verb can be changed to the past tense with '-ed'.

What I needed
I talked to some people during these past 4 months on italki.
After a long time working, I talked with my itaIki friend and laughed a lot. Even when I had <strike>a </strike>sad news, the conversations with them made me feel better.
Then I realised that all of them had warm hearts and that was what I needed.
This is the basis of people. Although people often forget it and become selfish, it is always natural and necessary to be nice to somebody and make them feel good.

About my father
This is my father who plays guitar left-handed. He and his friend play in a band. But today they played acoustic <strike>and play</strike> with professional singers at Ishidamitsunari festival.     - 'u' is short for 'you' but is not correct English. It is only used in phone text messages or on the internet.

:I'm always having trouble with the cash register.

    - You wrote this correctly in the sentence below.

:What flavor syrup do you want to put in?
