In this class, we will:

✔️ Correct and discuss grammar mistakes

I will be correcting grammar mistakes and vocabulary on a separate document so you can have a record of what you need to improve on. Let's start!

English Conversation Practice

Pronunciation Workshop

I completed an online course at the UIC Barcelona focusing on resources for TEFL while completing the MEDDEAS Language Assistant Program in Spain.

TESOL certification program at the University of Florida. The Certificate Program entails 225 hours of instruction in class and the internship entails another 45 hours in class (270 in-class hours of instruction in total).  The TESL Certificate Program (18 credits) entails five core courses (each 3 credits for 15 credits): Introduction to Linguistics (LIN 3010); Introduction to TESL (LIN 3360); Second Language Acquisition (LIN 4721); Modern English Structure (LIN 3680); and Pronunciation for TES

I completed a Linguistics degree with a minor in Spanish at the University of Florida.

- Co-taught absolute beginner and beginner online English classes 4 times a week to a group of adult refugees alongside the Adult Education Coordinator 
- Directly translated Spanish to English to ensure students understood instructions and teacher assessed needs appropriately
- Tutored English to a Salvadoran refugee student twice a week using my own materials and instruction
- Recorded attendance of all classes and assisted in managerial tasks

- Led 18 English classes per week to Spanish students from preschool to 4th grade in a bilingual K-12 charter school
- Created engaging, age-appropriate activities to stimulate authentic English language use in the classroom using a variety of materials such as flashcards, music, balloons, and others. 
- Collaborated with fellow teachers to ensure students’ language goals are being continuously assessed and accomplished

- Created stimulating and engaging lesson plans using a variety of materials according to my students’ language needs and their parents’ expectations
- Incorporated online platforms and digital tools such as Google Slides, Zoom, and Kahoot! to create an engaging online learning platform and reach students in other countries during the COVID-19 pandemic
- Communicated with parents to ensure students’ language needs are constantly being met

- Prepared students to face the reading, writing, listening, and speaking portions of the YLE, FCE, CAE, CPE Cambridge exams.
