This is a trial lesson to discuss your goals, needs, preferencies regarding learning the target language. Please write me a short introduction and tell me why you would like to learn the language, which level you are and what you would like to focus on (speaking, vocab, grammar, reading, writing, listening etc.).

Structured Hungarian lessons for beginners based on textbooks and/or PDF/videos/pictures/online teaching materials.


We typically use a textbook (preferably the MagyarOK series, but I am open to other textbooks as well) because it's important for beginners to be able to track their progress. 

However, we can also learn without a textbook, as I have plenty of other materials available. So, if you just want to take a few lessons before a trip to Hungary, for example, that’s perfectly fine, and I’m prepared for that too! :)

Hungarian for Beginners

My teaching approach in this course:

In the first part of the lesson, we engage in free conversation about anything (everyday life, what happened during the week, etc.). I also provide texts/videos (as homework), pictures, and situations that we can discuss in a more structured way. While we talk, I take note of your typical recurring mistakes (grammar and vocabulary), and after the speaking part, we discuss these mistakes. This means I’ll point them out to you, and you’ll try to correct them. If you're able to correct your mistakes without difficulty, it means it was likely just an accidental mistake or one that only occurs while speaking. In this case, we don’t need to address it with exercises (unless you'd like to do that). However, if there are mistakes you can’t correct or if it's clear that you're struggling with a particular area, I’ll explain the grammar or vocabulary issue to you and give you homework related to that part of the language, including new vocabulary. You’ll then complete the homework and send it back to me before the next lesson starts. I will correct it, and we will discuss it during the lesson. We’ll also practice and review the new vocabulary in the next lesson.
By providing homework tailored specifically to your needs and revising vocabulary in every session, my lessons are highly individualized and geared towards your personal goals, ensuring you make quick progress! :)

Hungarian for Pre-Intermediate and Advanced learners

The way I teach in this course: 

In the first part of the lesson, we talk freely about anything (everyday life, what happened to you during the week, etc.). If you would like to talk more, I also provide pictures, situations, articles, and videos that we can use for a more structured conversation. 
While we talk, I take notes on your typical mistakes (grammar and vocabulary), and after the speaking part, we discuss those mistakes. I point them out to you, and you try to correct them. If you can correct your mistakes without difficulty, it means they were just accidental mistakes or ones you typically make while speaking. In this case, we don’t need to address them through exercises (unless you would like to). However, if there are mistakes you cannot correct or if it's obvious that you're struggling with something, I will explain the grammar or vocabulary issue to you. I will also assign homework focused on that part of the language, such as adjective declension, the present perfect tense, modal verbs, etc. You’ll complete the homework and send it back to me before the next lesson starts. I will correct it, and we’ll discuss it during the lesson. If we’ve covered new vocabulary, we will practice those new words in the next lesson.

German grammar and conversation

This course is designed for complete beginners or students who only have a very basic command of the language.
We can use a textbook if you have one that you prefer. However, I also have plenty of useful materials for beginners (short texts, easy videos, pictures, grammar handouts) that we can use if you don’t have a textbook preference.
In this course, I will make sure that you master the basic grammar thoroughly, as it is essential for further German studies. However, if you don’t have any specific preferences, we will focus on conversation during the class. You will also receive plenty of tailored homework to practice and revise the grammar and vocabulary that we’ve covered in class.

German Beginner

This is a course that concentrates on grammar. We will talk much less than in my Grammar and Conversation course, so only choose this one if you want to work on your grammar skills. When we talk I will always take notes of your mistakes and we will discuss them together. Your mistakes and weaknesses will determine which grammar structure we are going to concentrate on. I will also give you short writing assignments and a lot of homework!

German Grammar/Deutsche Grammatik

In this course, I am going to prepare you for the Citizenship Interview (Simplified Naturalization Procedure) or for different Hungarian language exams (ECL, Origo, TELC etc).

CITIZENSHIP
If you are preparing for the Citizenship Interview, we are going to deal with all the topics that usually come up in the interview. As homework I will send you lots of audios with exercises to improve your listening skills and expand your vocabulary and in class we will focus on speaking. Of course we will also learn the essential grammar that you need to form sentences and use the language creatively! :) We will also learn about the Hungarian culture and everything that you need to pass your "exam" and become a Hungarian citizen! :)
If you are preparing for a language exam, we are going to practise examlike exercises like Speaking (normal conversation, picture description, dialogues etc.), Listening (as homework), Writing (homework) and Reading (homework). In this course you can expect a lot of homework! In class we are going to focus on Speaking and your vocabulary plus any grammar that you don't understand and where you/I feel that you need improvement. We are going to deal with all the exam topics, especially with the ones that you consider difficult.

CITIZENSHIP interview and language exams

Buche diesen Kurs, wenn du dich auf eine Sprachprüfung vorbereiten möchtest. Goethe, Telc, TestDaF usw. In diesem Kurs werden wir uns im Unterricht auf den mündlichen Teil der Prüfung konzentrieren (es sei denn du möchtest dich auf den schriftlichen Teil konzentrieren) und als Hausaufgabe werde ich dir Schreibaufgaben und Lesetexte/Videos usw. schicken. Natürlich werde ich dir auch dabei helfen, deine Grammatikkenntnisse zu verbessern und deinen Wortschatz zu erweitern.

Prüfungsvorbereitung

This type of lesson is not to be booked any more—the prices are not reduced any more. I just have to keep it because the system doesn't let me delete it for a couple of months. If you do book it, no problem; it just doesn't come at a reduced price any more, sorry!
