This course is designed to further consolidate the learner's Chinese language fundamentals and enable him/her to carry out more complex daily communication.

I can manage simple communication tasks in basic social situations. I can speak using short, sometimes incomplete sentences in the present tense. I can talk about familiar topics like personal information, basic objects, activities, preferences, and immediate needs. I can respond to simple questions or requests for information and ask a few basic questions. I can express myself by using rehearsed phrases and combining them in different ways. I can sometimes repeat or reuse what I hear from others to express myself. I can expand on rehearsed material and use stock phrases, similar to Intermediate level language ability. I can use repetition or rephrasing to fix miscommunications that may arise.
