Excuse me, how many people are there in your family?

wǒ jiā lǐ yǒu sì kǒu rén ， fù mǔ 、 wǒ hé yí gè mèi mei 。 
B ：  我 家  里 有  四 口  人  ， 父 母 、 我 和 一 个 妹  妹  。 
There are four people in my family, my parents, me and my younger sister.

What a happy family!

If you look up “get” in a dictionary, you might see anywhere from 10 to 20 definitions.  That is really scary.  However, I have some good news.  There is a much easier way to remember how to use “get.”  

Instead of memorizing dozens of meanings, it’s better to organize the meanings of “get” into groups.  Each group is easy to recognize because it is based on what comes after “get.”
