第一节 

很久以前，在一个风景如画、环境优美的山村里，有一名牧童，他每天的工作就是在山脚下放羊。

他是一个心地善良、聪明懂事的孩子。他的这些性格特点，要归功于他的爷爷。他的爷爷是一名名医，每天照顾村里生病的村民。他医术高超，乐于助人，人人都夸他是活菩萨转世。

 一天，牧童回家的路上遇见了一个猎人，这个猎人手里抓着一条雪白晶莹的蛇。在牧童的眼里，这条蛇美丽极了。尤其是在阳光下，它那洁白无瑕的鳞片折射出十分美丽的光环。可是，小蛇好像有灵气一般，望向牧童的眼里充满了悲伤。

牧童的心被触动了。他停下脚步，问猎人：“请问这位大叔，这条蛇您是用它来做什么的？”

猎人诚实地说道：“我要把它杀了，然后炖成汤来给我夫人治病。”

牧童说：“我可以让我爷爷帮您夫人看病，这样是否可以换取这条蛇的性命呢？”

猎人说：“那可以，可是我们没钱支付看病的钱。”

牧童说：“那如果我可以让爷爷免费给您夫人看病呢？”

猎人说：“那倒是可以试试。”

于是，小牧童带着这名猎人去找他爷爷。很幸运，他们得到了爷爷的同意，免费为猎人的妻子看病。交换的条件是：猎人把这条小白蛇交给小牧童处理。

牧童心花怒放，他从猎人手里接过这条蛇，一个人一路小跑到山上的林子里，放走了它。

小白蛇转过头，看着牧童，兴奋地甩动着尾巴，像是在对小牧童表示感谢。转瞬间，它就消失在了林子深处……
