Clase 9. Verbo ir.

Welcome to our first lesson! Today, we’re starting with the basics of sentence structure. Every sentence in English has three key parts: a subject, a verb, and an object. Let’s dive into what each part means and how they work together.

The subject is the person, place, or thing that the sentence is about. The verb shows the action or state of being. The object receives the action of the verb. For example, in the sentence "I eat apples," "I" is the subject, "eat" is the verb, and "apples" is the object.

Let’s look at some more examples. "She reads books." Here, "she" is the subject, "reads" is the verb, and "books" is the object. Another example is, "They play soccer." In this sentence, "they" is the subject, "play" is the verb, and "soccer" is the object.

Now, let’s practice together. Repeat after me: "I eat apples." Great! Now let’s try another one: "I watch TV." Excellent! Next, we’ll create some sentences together. I’ll say, "I [verb] [object]," and you can choose your own verb and object to complete the sentence. For example, "I see flowers," or "I like pizza."

Let’s make our practice a bit more creative. Think about activities you do every day. For instance, "I drink coffee," or "I read the newspaper." You could also say, "I walk to school," or "I write emails." Can you add a few more examples of things you do regularly? Practice saying them aloud to build confidence in using the Subject + Verb + Object structure. Try to include activities from different parts of your day, like morning routines, work tasks, or evening hobbies. Think about what you do when you wake up, such as "I brush my teeth," or "I make the bed." Then consider what you might do later, like "I cook dinner," or "I watch TV before bed."

Hay un experimento clásico que pone a un voluntario en el dilema de decidir qué hacer con un vagón que avanza descontrolado hacia cinco trabajadores que no pueden verlo. El voluntario observa la escena desde lo alto de un puente junto a otra persona. Si empuja a esta persona a las vías, morirá, pero detendrá el vagón y salvará cinco vidas. Cuando el experimento se realiza con personas que hablan dos idiomas y responden en su lengua materna, el veinte por ciento decide que sacrificar a una persona es aceptable para salvar a cinco. Cuando responden en su segundo idioma, la cifra sube al treinta y tres por ciento. El efecto se explica porque, cuando se habla una lengua extranjera, normalmente tomamos decisiones menos emocionales y más pragmáticas.

こんにちは～！マルハバ！サウジの日本語の先生、佳子です＾＾
みなさんー！元気ですかー？私はいつも通り元気ですよー！
今日は「自然災害」について話します。
前回、私が住んでいる地域で雨が降ったという話をしましたね。そのエピソードをアップロードした日、なんとサウジで「豪雨」がありました。「豪雨」とは「激しい勢いで大量に降る雨」のことです。「大雨」とほぼ同じ意味ですが、基本的に短時間でたくさん雨が降るときに使います。午前11時半くらいから雨がたくさん降ってきて、雷も鳴っていました。日本に住んでいた時はこんなの日常茶飯事だったけど、サウジでは全然雨や雷がないので、ちょっと新鮮でした。息子も久しぶりの大雨を眺めるのを楽しんでいました。単なる豪雨かと思っていたのですが、夜、夫がYoutubeのニュース動画を見せてくれました。私たちの街から車で2,30分の町では雹が降ったり、洪水の被害がありました。まさか、ピンポン玉くらいの雹がサウジの空から降るとはほんとうに驚きました。幸いにもけが人や死者はそんなにいなかったようですが、車のガラスが割れたり、たくさんの車が水につかって使えなくなりました。
サウジでは地震や台風、山火事などの自然災害は、ほとんどないです。自然災害といえば、今回のような洪水が10年に1度ほど起こります。自然災害が多い日本と比べると本当に安心して暮らせます。そして家が頑丈なので強風や地震、ちょっとした火事で壊れることもなさそうです。

今天想和大家聊一聊跟“吃”有关的一些有意思的说法。
吃我们都知道是“eat”的意思，吃饭，吃东西，吃药。你可能听过“我今天中午吃食堂”，这里指的是“在食堂吃午饭”。“小吃”就是snack，street food，比较简单的菜。“大吃大喝”，指的是“吃很多”，例如：春节期间，很多人每天都是大吃大喝。
这些词都跟吃东西有关，还有一些词不是真的吃东西。我们来看看。
【吃苦】苦是bitter的意思，例如“这杯咖啡很苦。”还有一个意思是“suffering，pain”。所以“吃苦”的意思就是“have a rough time”。例如“因为家里穷，他小时候吃了很多苦。”还有一个意思是”endure hardship“，例如“现在的年轻人生活条件太好了，很多都不能吃苦。”
【吃亏】亏是损失，loss，吃亏就是“suffer losses”。例如：不听老人言，吃亏在眼前。意思是：如果不听老人的建议，就会吃亏，会有不好的结果。
【吃瓜】吃瓜是一个网络流行语，这里的瓜是我们吃的“瓜子，sunflower seeds”。在戏院看戏的时候，边看边吃瓜子。后来“吃瓜”这个词用来表示发生什么八卦事件的时候，大家围观、八卦的状态。这些网友我们叫做“吃瓜群众”，而“瓜”则表示某个热点八卦事件。
【吃狗粮】狗粮本来的意思是狗吃的食物。在中文里面，我们经常开玩笑把单身的人叫做“单身狗”。一对情侣如果在一个单身狗面前表现得很甜蜜，我们叫做“秀恩爱”，也叫“撒狗粮”。意思是单身狗看到情侣这么甜蜜，很生气，气得吃不下饭或者气饱了。单身狗看到情侣这样甜蜜，就叫“吃狗粮”。
