Кто такой Дед Мороз? 
Дед Мороз - это волшебник в красной или белой шубе с посохом в руке. Он ездит на тройке лошадей и часто приходит со своей внучкой Снегурочкой. Его официальная резиденция находится в Великом Устюге. В ночь с 31 декабря на 1 января Дед Мороз приносит хорошим детям подарки и кладёт их под ёлку. 
Персонаж имеет славянские корни, но тот образ, который у нас есть сейчас, сформировался в советский период в 30-х годах. Тогда же и был создан детский праздник, который называется “ёлка”, где дети в разных костюмах веселятся, водят хоровод, поют новогодние песни, рассказывают стихи Деду Морозу и за это получают конфеты и шоколадки. Детские "ёлки" проходят в декабре в детских садах и школах.
