Halo semua! Selamat pagi, siang, sore dan malam! Bagaimana akhir minggu kalian? 

Hari Sabtu, Saya punya rencana bertemu sama teman saya. Tapi tiba-tiba dia bilang mungkin dia masuk angin. Di Bahasa Inggris, “masuk angin” adalah “catch a cold”, dan di Bahasa Jepang adalah 風邪を引く. Jadi, Saya pergi sendiri ke toko buku dan cuci mata.
Saya tahu teman saya ini adalah orang yang angin-anginan. “Orang yang angin-anginan” adalah orang yang tidak konsisten dengan perasaannya. Di Bahasa Inggris artinya “moody person”, di Bahasa Jepang artinya “気分屋”. Contohnya, Hari ini teman kamu bilang “ok”, besok dia bilang “tidak ok”. Hari ini dia bilang “suka”, besok dia bilang “tidak suka”. Kalian punya teman yang angin-anginan? Ok, sampai di sini ya. Hari ini kita belajar ekspresi dengan kata “angin”. Menarik kan! In today's episode I will talk about the use of passato prossimo, how to form it and when to use the auxiliary verbs avere or essere.

Many people don't know what to do with their old clothes. Some give them to charity, others get them repaired — but what about clothes that can't be repaired?

These clothes usually end up in the garbage. A 2017 report estimated that 83 million metric tons of clothes and shoes were thrown away in 2015, and this could increase to over 130 million metric tons by 2030.

Clothes are difficult to recycle because they're often made up of different components. Even a T-shirt that's 100% cotton may still have labels and threads made from other materials like polyester.

Separating those materials isn't easy, making any piece of clothing difficult to recycle.

But researchers at the University of Delaware believe they've found a new way to recycle blended fabrics, and it only takes 15 minutes.

They developed a process using chemicals and microwaves to break down polyester and spandex while leaving cotton and nylon intact. The nylon is then dissolved off the cotton using a simple solvent.

The broken down and dissolved components are then collected, and can be used to make polyester, spandex and nylon again. And while the remaining cotton isn't high quality, the researchers say it could be mixed with new cotton to make stronger recycled yarn, for example.

Erha Andini, who led the study, told The Washington Post that clothes companies aren't always clear about what's in their clothes. But a process like this can be used even if you don't know what your clothing is made from.

However, the researchers say it could be some time before their process is used on a large scale.

And Tasha Lewis from Ohio State University — who wasn't part of the research — told The Washington Post that while processes like this are good, they should be used as a last resort.

She said it's cheaper and simpler to just buy used clothes. She added that companies should also make clothes that last longer, and make them out of one type of fabric so they're easier to recycle.

US Researchers Find New Way to Recycle Clothes

Like many other grandmothers, Daisy likes to knit, and she isn't very good with technology.

Or, at least, that's what she might tell people on the phone.

Daisy also describes herself as "your worst nightmare." But don't worry, she's not talking to you — she's talking to phone scammers.

That's because Daisy is actually an AI chatbot. She was created by UK phone company Virgin Media O2 to speak to scammers on the phone and make them believe they're talking to a real person.

Older people are very vulnerable to scams. In July, a UK study found that about 67% of people over the age of 75 were victims of at least one scam attempt in the six months before the study — with almost 75% being phone scams.

Enter Daisy, who has been trained to have conversations with phone scammers and waste their time.

Virgin Media O2 worked with Jim Browning, a YouTuber who has spent years "scambaiting" — that is, pretending to be a clueless victim to waste scammers' time.

And that's the whole point — Daisy can't stop scammers, but she can slow them down.

"Whenever she's on the phone with a scammer, your parents, your grandparents, your relatives, are not being scammed," Browning told Sky News.

The company says Daisy is already "wasting hundreds and hundreds of hours of scammers' time," and has shared real-life conversations the chatbot has had with scammers.

Some conversations last nearly an hour. She talks about her cat, Fluffy, and people in her family. In some conversations, she gives the scammers what they want — bank details. But of course, they're not real.

Murray Mackenzie from Virgin Media O2 said Daisy is also a reminder that the person you're speaking to on the phone might not always be who they say they are.
