Welcome! I’m delighted to present to you 111 Tips for Learning a Language. Here is our tip for today. The first tip is to learn in a way which is most comfortable to you. You yourself decide how and what you want to learn. Well, be creative! There is no one right way to learn a language. Everyone is a unique individual and thus they have different interests when it comes to learning. Some students like to dive straight into informal conversation while others prefer to learn in a more systematic way using a textbook. Some students, like myself included, start by learning vocabulary. I take great pleasure in making flash cards for myself when I’m learning a language. When we learn in a manner which we enjoy we would definitely be more disciplined to keep it up. Ideally learning for ourselves should be fun and relaxing while stimulating at the same time with just the right oomph factor to keep us wanting to know more. C’était il y a trois ans. C’était un soir, dans une petite ruelle sombre près d’une des grandes gares. Elle se tenait dans l’encadrement d’une porte, sous un lampadaire qui éclairait à peine. 今回も和食について、話します。



日本は周りを全て海に囲まれています。
珍しい国ですね。
山も多いですね。日本の土地の何%が山か知っていますか？
じつは、75％が山、なんだそうです。めちゃ多いですよね！

日本は古来から、豊かな自然に囲まれ、海や山から、たくさんの恵みを受けてきていますね。そんなありがたい食材を無駄なく使うことが多いのも和食の特徴かもしれません。

今日はそんな和食のいろんな側面について、はなしますね。


■和食の精神性
ー自然が大きな存在であり、時によっては、恐れられるものでもありました。人々は、自然そのものに神を感じました。そして、狩猟や稲作での豊作の感謝や祈りが生まれ、それは祭りとなりました。食を通して、自然への精神性を持ち続けています。

■和食の社会性
ー日本以外でもそうだと思いますが、日本では祝い事や祭り、行事など。自然の恵みをみんなで一緒に食べることで、社会性を築いてきました。打ち上げなどの文化は今も続いています。


■和食の地域性
ー縦長な日本は気候や地理が地域で変わります。
北海道から沖縄まで、それぞれの場所で作られてきた物を使い、特徴的な料理を作ってきました。地域によって本当にさまざまで、日本のおもしろさの1つですね。

僕が今まで住んでいた地域では、
大阪、岡山、鳥取、北海道です。
大阪は、お好み焼きですね。
ーだしで溶いた小麦粉の生地に、細かく切ったキャベツや肉、イカなどを入れ、鉄板で平たく両面を焼いたものですね。僕も奥さんも大阪の出身なので、家でもよくお好み焼きをします。同じような粉もんなら、広島焼きとか、たこ焼きも作りますね。粉もんについては、以前のPodcast#92で話していますので、よかったら聞いてみてください。

岡山は、デミカツ丼ですね。
ー揚げたてのとんかつに、熱々のデミグラスソースをかけた岡山のご当地どんぶり「おかやまデミカツ丼」ですね。たぶん、岡山の人はあまり食べないと思います。僕は大阪からはじめての他の都道府県が岡山県だったので、良く食べました。たぶん、家を探しに行った時に食べたのも、デミカツ丼だったと思います。

鳥取は、僕にとっては、海鮮丼ですかね。
ー日本海に面しているので、良く海鮮丼を食べていました。
境港という、場所があります。ここでは海鮮丼が食べられます。僕はアジとイカの丼が好きでよく食べていましたが、たぶん普通人気なのはカニだと思います。


北海道は、ちゃんちゃん焼きですね。
ー地元の人がどれぐらい食べるかはわからないですが、鮭を買って、レシピを調べて作ったりしています。サケ、キャベツ、たまねぎ、人参、ピーマン、もやし、味噌などを入れ、蒸し焼きにします。作るのは簡単なので、時々作ります。


日本には、その地域の料理を郷土料理と言います。
ですが、農林水産省が定義している郷土料理は今のところ百選とされています。基準があり、それを満たしている料理が選定しているようです。

もちろんそれ以外にも地域ごとでおいしい食べ物はたくさんあります！

みなさんも、もし日本に来たらその地域の料理、郷土料理を食べてみてくださいね！地理的、歴史的な理由でその料理が郷土料理になっているので、調べてみるとおもしろいですよ！

ということで、今回は和食文化の話と郷土選定しているようです。郷土料理の話はまたしますね。
