Диктант - это не самая любимая часть занятий по русскому языку у школьников, но очень полезная. Так что давайте учиться понимать русский и грамотно его записывать! 
Система будет такая. Я читаю текст два раза: в первый раз медленно, по несколько слов (ставьте эпизод на паузу, чтобы успеть записать), второй раз - быстрее, чтобы вы проверили, всё ли правильно. 
На этот раз я взяла отрывок из рассказа А.П. Чехова “Весной”. У нас сейчас всё именно так, как описывает великий русский писатель. А у вас?

As a beginner, there're some vocabularies that you didn't learn before, and native speaker's speed seems too fast to understand. But don't worry, let's do it step by step. 
1st time: listen and catch the words you know already, have a guess about the content.
2nd time: look at the text to check if you guessed it right. 
3rd time: listen one more time, repeat after it.
4th time: practice until you can speak as the normal speed without looking at the text.

中国的交通很方便。
zhōng guó de jiāo tōng hěn fāng biàn 。
The transportation in China is very convenient.
去上班可以坐地铁、坐公车、打车或者自己开车。
qù shàng bān kě yǐ zuò dì tiě 、 zuò gōng chē 、 dǎ chē huò zhě zì jǐ kāi chē 。
To get to work, you can take the subway, bus, taxi or drive yourself.
家离公司近的人可以走路去上班。
jiā lí gōng sī jìn de rén kě yǐ zǒu lù qù shàng bān 。
People who live close to the company can walk to work.
但是大城市人很多，堵车很厉害。
dàn shì dà chéng shì rén hěn duō ， dǔ chē hěn lì hài 。

rú guǒ nǐ gǎn shí jiān ， zuò dì tiě zuì hǎo 。
If you're in a hurry, it's best to take the subway.

Because the subway does not have traffic jams, it is very punctual.

At what age do we become "old?"

This is a question a team of European researchers has been asking.

The age at which people think old age begins has moved in time, according to a new study.

Many people also like to believe they haven't yet reached old age, even as they get older.

The research team looked at data from the German Ageing Survey, which included more than 14,000 participants.

The participants were born between 1911 and 1974, and answered survey questions over a 25-year period between 1996 and 2021.

They were aged between 40 and 85 when they began answering the questions, and more participants joined the survey in time.

People were asked a lot of questions, including: "At what age would you describe someone as old?"

The researchers found that when people born in 1911 got to the age of 65, they thought old age began at 71.

But when those who were born in 1956 got to 65, they thought old age began at 74, on average.

However, the study also found that people's perceptions of old age changed as they got older.

At the age of 64, the average participant said old age began at about 75. But at the age of 74, the average participant said old age began at about 76.

Study author Markus Wettstein said he wasn't sure if this meant people had a positive or negative view of old age.

Better health care and increased life expectancy in recent years may also have affected people's perceptions, he said.
