I remember seeing an exhibition of photographs a few years ago about the way war has affected my city, Bath. It was very powerful and made me more aware of the reality of war - the images of destruction were of places I know well. One of the photographs moved me to tears.

A painting that cheers me up is Sunflowers by Vincent Van Gogh. The flower is a symbol of
happiness, and it was painted at a time when Van Gogh was feeling optimistic about the future. He painted the flowers many times, but one of the original paintings is in the National Gallery in London where I often go and look at it.

こんにちは。今日は7月4日木曜日です。「5分でわかる日本語」ポッドキャストへようこそ。私は日本語の先生、みわです。今日は、日本の梅雨（つゆ）についてお話しします。

日本には梅雨というものがあるのを知っていますか？梅雨は雨の多い季節です。東京では、5月末から7月初めくらいまでが梅雨の時期です。この時期は、ほぼ毎日雨が降ります。

梅雨は日本のいろいろな地域にもあります。例えば、大阪、福岡、沖縄などです。大阪の梅雨も、東京と同じように5月末から7月初めくらいまでです。福岡の梅雨も同じくらいの時期ですが、少しだけ長いかもしれません。沖縄の梅雨は少し早くて、5月の初めから6月の中頃までです。

でも、私の住んでいる北海道には梅雨がありません。今、とてもいい季節です！涼しくて、天気も良いです。

でも、最近は地球温暖化の影響で、北海道でも梅雨のような天気が続くことがあります。地球温暖化（ちきゅうおんだんか）とは、地球の気温が高くなることです。そのため、気候が変わってきています。昔は、北海道に梅雨はありませんでしたが、今は少しずつ変わってきています。

梅雨は、雨が多いので、少し大変かもしれません。でも、梅雨が終わると、暑い夏が始まります。夏にはたくさんの楽しいことがあります。例えば、花火大会や夏祭りです。たくさん遊んで、友達や家族と楽しい時間を過ごしたりします。

梅雨の時期には、雨が続くので湿度も高くなります。湿度とは、空気中にある水の量のことです。湿度が高いと、部屋の中が暑く感じることがあります。また、梅雨の時期には洗濯した物が乾きにくくなります。

でも、梅雨の雨は、畑にとっても大切です。畑に水を与えます。野菜やお米のために、とても大切です。

ここで、皆さんに問題です。梅雨はどんな季節ですか？
	1.	雨がたくさん降る季節
	2.	雨が少なくなる季節
	3.	雨が止む季節
正解は「1. 雨がたくさん降る季節」です。

我从中国来，我是中国人，我在中国的南方（nánfāng, south）。你呢？
我今年30岁，你知道我去年几岁吗？明年呢？
我是一位中文老师。我有很多学生，他们是工程师、医生、服务员和学生。你的工作是什么呢？我想你可能在银行工作？或者在学校工作？还是在工厂工作？
我喜欢读书、做饭。我还特别喜欢体育运动，跑步阿、骑自行车呀，爬山什么的。我也喜欢和好朋友在一起，虽然她最喜欢的是吃巧克力和睡觉。你喜欢什么呢？
我的城市叫厦门。这里很夏天和冬天都很舒服，不太热也不太冷，刮风下雨的时候不多，天气很好。这里的生活比较慢，我想，是因为厦门人喜欢喝茶。厦门在海的旁边，它公园很多，大树很多，路很干净，房子很漂亮，很像一个大花园，所以很多人来这里旅游。
厦门有两千年的历史，所以她有一种很古老(gû lâo, ancient)的音乐，但是现在的人都已经听不懂了。
在厦门最流行的游戏叫做博饼(bó bîng, mooncake betting)。这个游戏我们只在中秋节(zhōng qiū jié, the Mid-autumn Festival)玩，所有的大人和孩子都喜欢，因为可以拿很多礼物。
我喜欢我现在的城市，但我更喜欢我的老家(lâo jiā, hometown)，我的老家有我的爸爸妈妈爷爷奶奶，我喜欢的邻居、朋友和同学。我希望每一年都能回家一次，每一次都能和我爱的人一起去吃好吃的。
