I just came up with one thought while watching this movie. 
“This is why we learn history!”
Not only does this movie describe Korean history very well, but it also introduces both positions unbiased.
Especially, I love watching the debate between the two main characters. 
What would you choose? 
It is a movie where you can learn the history and wisdom of lives!

이 영화를 보면서 제가 느낀 점은 딱 하나였어요. 
“이래서 우리가 역사를 배워야 하는구나!”
한국 역사를 아주 잘 묘사하면서도 두 입장을 치우침 없이 공평하게 소개한 명작입니다. 
특히, 두 배우의 토론이 아주 멋진데요.

Is college worth the time and money? Americans are increasingly skeptical about the value and cost, according to a new survey.

And most said they feel the US higher education system is moving in the "wrong direction."

Overall, only 36% of adults said they have a "great deal" or "quite a lot" of confidence in higher education, according to a report released by Gallup and the Lumina Foundation. That confidence level has declined steadily from 57% in 2015.

Some of the same opinions have been reflected in declining enrollment numbers as colleges contend with the effects of the student debt crisis, concerns about the high cost of tuition and political debates over how they teach about race and other topics.

"It's so expensive, and I don't think colleges are teaching people what they need to get a job," said Randy Hill, a 59-year-old driver from Connecticut.

He added: "You graduate out of college, you're up to [your] eyeballs in debt, you can't get a job, then you can't pay it off. What's the point?"

The June 2024 survey's overall finding — that 36% of adults feel strong confidence in higher education — is the same as the year before.

But what concerns researchers is that more Americans — 32% — said they have "very little" or no confidence in higher education.

Experts say that fewer college graduates could lead to labor shortages in fields from health care to information technology.

For those who choose not to go to college, it often means lower lifetime earnings — 75% less compared with those who get bachelor's degrees, according to Georgetown University's Center on Education and the Workforce. And during an economic downturn, those without degrees are more likely to lose jobs.

However, others still see the value in higher education. College student Kristen Freeman from California told The Associated Press: "I think higher education can give students the spark to want to change the system."

このPodcastは、日本語を勉強しているみなさんに向けたPodcastです。

海外旅行、ケルンの話が続きます。
昼ご飯を食べたあと、いくつかコーヒーショップに連れて行ってくれました。

2つの店ではコーヒー豆を買いましたので、その店の話をします。

1つ目の店は、

シャモン？チャモン？コーヒーです。

ここはコーヒー豆がメインのお店でした。
コーヒー豆を買いに来る人がとても多かったです。
もちろん、横でドリンクも頼めました。
ラテをオーダーしましたが、エスプレッソの味がしっかりしていて、でもさわやかな後味でおいしかったです。
この店のエスプレッソマシンがマルゾッコ、という会社のマシンでした。僕は以前働いていたコーヒーショップで、10年ぐらいこのマシンを使っていました。だから見ていてとてもうらやましかったです。ちょっと使いたいな、と思います。

地元の方がよくコーヒー豆を買いに来ていました。
地域に愛されている店なんだなと思って、自分もうれしい気持ちになりました。

2つ目の店はこちらです。

ここもコーヒー豆がメインの店でした。　
この店では、ラッキーなことにちょうどコーヒーを焙煎ばいせん、している時でした。僕の知り合いの方が店の人に話しかけてくれたので、10分ぐらいコーヒーの税金の話などをしてくれていました。

どちらの店でも感じたことですが、働いている人が自然に楽しんで働いている感じがしました。それがとても印象的でした。

もちろん、日本のカフェで働いている人たちも楽しんで働いています。でもそれは少しだけ作られたもののような気がしますが、それは感じませんでした。スタッフとお客さんがフラットな関係なのも影響してきるかもしれないですね。

とにかく、良い笑顔の人が多かったです。


信頼されて、任されて、自分で判断できる仕事だと、人は生き生きと働くんだなと改めて思いました。

ということで、ケルンのコーヒーショップとそこで感じたことの話でした。

1. Know Your BATNA: Before entering negotiations, determine your Best Alternative To a Negotiated Agreement (BATNA). This empowers you to walk away if an offer falls short of your needs. A strong BATNA strengthens your position and gives you room to make concessions.

2. Collaborative Spirit: Aim for win-win solutions. Leaders understand successful negotiation isn't about dominance, but building long-term relationships. Focus on common interests and identify areas where compromise can create mutual benefit.

3. Active Listening: Master the art of active listening. Pay close attention to the other party's needs and concerns. Ask clarifying questions to ensure you fully grasp their position. This fosters trust and allows you to tailor your approach.
