☆Words☆
七五三（しちごさん）：Shichi-go-san is an annual Japanese festival to celebrate the growth of children. It takes place on or around November 15. The festival is for boys aged three and five, and girls aged three and seven. That’s why it is called shichi-go-san (seven-five-three).
お祝（いわ）い：celebration
成長（せいちょう）：growth
中旬（ちゅうじゅん）：middle of a month
江戸時代（えどじだい）：Edo period (1603-1868 CE)
剃（そ）る：shave
袴（はかま）：man's formal divided skirt
帯（おび）：belt (e.g. of a kimono)
千歳飴（ちとせあめ）：longevity candy, long red-and-white stick candy
On shichi-go-san, children eat long red-and-white stick candy, called chitose ame. Chitose means “one thousand years.” It symbolizes health and longevity.

Very few textbooks teach 'euphemisms', but they're an essential part of English life. An euphemism is a mild or indirect word / expression that takes the place of something that is considered too blunt when referring to something embarrassing. For example, the phrase 'a correctional facility' is an idiom that we use instead of the word 'prison'. Or we say that a person is 'big boned', instead of the word 'fat'. So the next time you hear somebody saying that they have to 'powder their nose', or you learn that someone has a 'negative cash flow', use this podcast to know exactly what they mean. 
* By the way, have you ever wondered where the expression 'a bucket list' comes from? Well it comes from the euphemism 'to kick the bucket', which means 'to die'. 무슨 literally means “which or what”
Because “말” is “a word” in Korean, 무슨 말 can be “what word” or “which word”.
And “~인지 알겠어요?” can be translated into “do you get it?”
