なお、「お彼岸（おひがん） equinox day」は春と秋にあって、それぞれを日本では「春分の日」「秋分の日」と呼んでいます。
昼間は私たち、生きている者の時間、夜は死んだ人たちの時間。その両方が近づく日、ということで、先祖（せんぞ ancestors )に会いに、墓参り（はかまいり  visit to a grave )をする日になっています。
