すると猫もけろりとして
「先生、こんやの演奏はどうかしてますね。」といいました。
　セロ弾きは またぐっとしゃくにさわりましたが 何気ない風で 巻たばこを一本だして 口にくわえ それからマッチを一本とって
「どうだい。ぐあいをわるくしないかい。舌を出してごらん。」
猫は ばかにしたように とがった長い舌をベロリと出しました。
「ははあ、少しあれたね。」セロ弾きはいいながら いきなりマッチを舌で シュッとすって じぶんのたばこへつけました。さあ猫はおどろいたの何の 舌を風車のようにふりまわしながら 入り口のとへ行って 頭でどんとぶっつかっては よろよろとして またもどって来て どんとぶっつかっては よろよろまた戻って来て またぶっつかっては よろよろ にげみちをこさえようとしました。
ゴーシュはしばらく面白そうに見ていましたが
「出してやるよ。もう来るなよ。ばか。」
セロ弾きはとをあけて猫が風のようにかやのなかを走って行くのを見て ちょっとわらいました。それから、やっとせいせいしたというように ぐっすりねむりました。
