意味：相手の話を真剣に、注意深くしっかりと聴くこと。

「耳を傾ける」の由来は、言葉通り「少しでも相手の声を聞き漏らさないように、自分の耳や頭を相手の方向に斜めに傾ける動作」から来ています。

ただなんとなく「聞く（Hear）」のではなく、自分の気持ちを相手に向け、心を込めて「聴く（Listen）」姿勢そのものを表す美しい言葉です。
