You used "吠"to describe the bark, while this character is not widely used in modern Chinese. It is common in ancient poetry along with 犬 to describe 狗. For example, 柴门闻犬吠，风雪夜归人. So it is a little strange to see the usage"他们吠的很厉害". Just say "他们叫的很厉害", I think it will be OK. Also, "他们是公狗" instead of "他们是男人" when you say "男人" it only mean human beings. If your dogs are puppies and you think they are part of your family (You don't treat them dogs), you can say "他们是男孩子". But this expression is informal and maybe strange for people who do not like dogs.

Does that “他们男人” mean for "they are male"? Cuz we don't use 他们男人 in this way. It should be他们是公的 if you want to dedicate that they are male.
