Normally I would use 'called'.
I saw/met a girl called Maryam.
I bought a book called/titled...
This is the easiest way.

I saw a girl the name of whom was Maryam.
To be 100% honest, I’m a native English speaker and can’t tell you if that’s correct since it’s a word we don’t use often unless we want to add emphasis or be very formal. A more common phrase would be “I saw a girl named Maryam,” but what you said would work as well.
I bought a book the name of which was…
This sentence is perfect! Just add the title of the book at the end.
Hope this helped!

I'd say like that because the teacher who has taught us grammar like that and there are some rules
I saw a girl whose name was Maryam.
1- this relative pronoun and use it with possessive.
2- whom vs whose. Whom is not very common in spoken English and use it to replace object, for example, this is the police officer. I spoke to him. Answer, This is the police officer to whom I spoke. Thank you for your question that helps me to remember what I've learnt.
