Shalom everyone! As a passionate for learning languagesI 'm so happy to have joined this wonderful language community where I can meet other polyglots! I myself am a Hebrew teacher, and I wondered if the experienced teachers might give me some tips how to begin having new students in this platform. Toda! Dana

I am not an iTalki teacher but I have much experience taking lessons. It would help to say more in your profile. For example, what sort of student would you like to have? Do you want beginners? Do you accept children? Do you prefer language structure or conversation, or do you like to do both? In your profile, could you say a sentence or two about the "method" you mention in your video? After watching your video, it seems clear that you are an interesting and accomplished person - so accomplished in fact that it might intimidate some potential students. It would help if you mentioned a few personal things like favorite places or activities unrelated to your accomplishments. I disagree with David that you are charging too much. Prices vary by language for reasons of supply and demand, and prices are high for Hebrew. True, a teacher can fill up their day with lessons by charging low prices, but based on your activities I find it hard to imagine that you have time for that anyhow.

There’s no magic formula, but if you can hook one or two regular students, and satisfy them, you will hopefully have a good rating and good reviews which will attract more students. It is ultimately a personal choice of how much you value you your own time, and what you think you are worth, but a peek at your profile suggests that your prices are higher than average, especially for a teacher with no reviews or ratings. I don’t mean to say that your classes aren’t worth that, probably they are, but there is so much competition here, literally anybody can sign up to teach, that it may be a challenge to get students to pay that kind of amount without having any confirmed lessons. I would also gently suggest that you double check some of the English in your bio, as even if somebody is hiring you to teach Hebrew, they will want to see competency in your language usage. Good luck out there!
