1) I'd omit "more or less" here... in reading the Wiktionary listing for the phrase, I think it's because "more or less" tends to describe generalities rather than specific instances. 2) added "a" before scripture because it's generally treated as a countable word (though it looks like it wouldn't be!) 3) similar to (1), "the whole time" is typically for one extended period, instead of multiple periods.
