Hi.
I made a list of psychological and social features/pecularities of Chinese students as opposed to my average pupil.
I used to teach them, and now want to give a talk on the topic to help others keep these in mind and take into considerations when designing or teaching a course.
Am I right?
What is missing?
How can I expand each further?
Thank you!
1. Chinese students do everything asked in the curriculum (traditional school and uni pressure), but at the same time tend not to ask why, how and where to apply it.
2. Do not point out your mistakes (on the board, in the textbook, etc), will want to save your face. Worry if the mistake is pointed out in front of everyone, will want to instead save face.
3. Are not especially used to discussing or debating in the class or asking during a lecture.
4. Prefer the familiar - same classmates in their lab team, same type of lectures and assignments.
5. Do not discuss personal matters, politics or anything minimally controversial or including clash of opinions. [Need to softly introduce debates as a tool].

You'd better specify
which region Chinese students they were
because
what you wrote seems very close to nonsense :(
and
here I'll tell you why
1 yes they do "as written in the instruction"
therefore
"ask why, how and where to apply" should be written in the instruction
and if you being a teacher wrote lame instuctions
be ready to say "hi" to numerous mistakes
coz you were a lame teacher
2 you put it as a personal mistake
while it should be a typical mistake
making Zhang or Wang the unlucky one who made it
makes you a lame teacher
3 a teacher who doesn't know that lecture
is a one way process
I say you listen
is a lame teacher
and
the one who turns "I give you" into "let's chat" is a lame teacher
imagine
a guy who brought a box of apples
and instead of giving them
tries to encourage his students to take out their lunchboxes
and share what they got there
