It's a humid day today, without a hint of breeze; everything feels stagnant. On account of my mom's work, she's struggling to grasp certain English vocabulary words, such as "smocked, self-tie, halter, ruffled, floral," and et cetera. Are all these adjectives really necessary to describe an article of clothing? If it weren't for her, I probably wouldn't have come across these words in the first place. Now, though, it seems I've become accustomed to this excessive naming technique — attaching numerous adjectives to your product as part of the promotional strategy. I even wonder if this is grammatically correct.

Adding a lot of adjectives is ok, the difficult part is working out the order!

"Are all these adjectives really necessary to describe an article of clothing?"
It depends on the context. In casual conversation, you probably wouldn't use all these adjectives at once. However, in a fashion catalog or online store, detailed descriptions help customers visualize and understand the product better. It's especially useful when buying online, where you can't touch or try on the clothing.
"I even wonder if this is grammatically correct."
Yes, it's grammatically correct to use multiple adjectives to describe something. The order of the adjectives matters. In English, adjectives usually go in this order: quantity, quality, size, age, shape, color, origin, material, and purpose. For example: "A beautiful, large, old, round, red, Italian, wooden, pizza plate." But not all these categories have to be used every time.
Here's a little exercise to reinforce the use of these vocabulary words and improve your mom's understanding:
Task: Ask your mom to find items of clothing in her wardrobe that could be described with these adjectives. Then, she can write sentences using these words to describe those clothes. She could also try to explain in her own words what each adjective means. This will help her remember the words and understand how they are used in context.
