So, it's actually nothing about ghosts. It is also very different from the Hallows' Day which is celebrated for fun. On Ghost Day, the relatives who have the same ancestors gather together and visit the graveyard where their ancestors are buried. In Chinese culture, after people have passed away, their children think that something special and important is passed down from their accestors. These things teach them to work hard to have a better life or to be a kind person. It's just like the root of a family. All the offspring follow the rule to make a living. In order to let all the relatives remember their ancestors' edification, all of them show their respect for their ancestors and share each other's interesting things about their life on that day. If it's possible, a picnic is necessary. So, the Ghost Day is not only for the past, but also for the wonderful future. Ghost Day this year is on the Lunar July 15th every year.
