When I want to describe a person have a pair of deep-set eyes, I think I could use this word-"socket". According to dictionary, it symbolize the sunken places on the face where have eyes. When I use this word, do I must add "eye" before it to make up a phrase"eye socket", or I can just use a single word "socket" only? Can I speak like this: "This man have deep eye sockets" In addition, I also hear a word "eyehole", it is said that this word equals "eye socket", but I feel this word is horrific and bloodcurding. It sounds like using knife or something made two holes on face and made person blind. Does it really equals "eye socket"?

If you are writing this for a descriptive story , you can use the words deep eye sockets. Because it is very descriptive But if you are wanting to use this in general conversation , you can say "That man has sunken eyes" - sunken eyes is more appropriate for cinversation

I have personally gone for cataract surgery. So eye sockets are true!!! After the surgery, I need not wear glasses. Unless I need things to be very clear, I seldom wear glasses.

"eye socket" is correct. "eyehole" can mean the same thing, but I've never heard anyone use it for that. If you're being poetic, like in a story, you are able to say "socket" for effect. People know "sunken eyes" and maybe only a doctor would say "deep eye sockets"

For descriptive writing you could use this sentence, " This man has deep eye sockets" and not "This man have deep eye sockets". Although 'have' and 'has' both indicate possession in the present tense (describing events that are currently happening), 'have' is used with pronouns I, you, we, they and 'has' is used with he, she, it. You should also use 'eye socket' or 'sunken eyes' instead of 'eyehole'

Hello! I would say eye sockets always and never eye holes! But also, I've never seen eye sockets mentioned much in conversation, if yiu want to say thay someone's eyes are deep in their face I would probably just say "sunken eyes"! I hope this was helpful!
