Professionelle LehrkraftđŒ Employer vs Employee â Whatâs the Difference?
Many students mix up the words employer and employee.
But the difference is simple đ
Letâs make it clear đ
đ Employer = the person who gives a job
đ Employee = the person who has the job
đ Easy trick to remember:
Employ = to give someone a job.
âą EmployER â the person who GIVES the job
âą EmployEE â the person who GETS the job
Think like this:
TeachER â teaches
EmployER â employs
The ending -er = the person who DOES the action.
The ending -ee = the person who RECEIVES the action.
Examples:
â The employer gives her a job.
â The employee works in the company.
â The employee asks for a day off.
More examples:
trainER / trainEE
interviewER / interviewEE
Now itâs easy, right? đ
Tell me in the comments:
Are you an employee or an employer?
