Hi, guys. I'm trying to learn "used to, be used to, and get used to". I wrote a little story, could you help me to check if everything is alright?
I moved to this city 2 months ago and I’m just getting used to living on my own. The first problem I faced with - I’m not used to planning my budget, so I almost spent all my money on the first day. At school, I used to tell my mom what I need and she took care of everything. Also, I’m trying to get used to using public transport and navigators, because I’m afraid of being lost in such a big city. The second issue - I’m not got used to making new friends, I mingle with a lot of people, but I can’t say if we’re becoming friends or just having small talk. Though, I’m used to balancing studying activities and my free time. By the way, there is one unexpected skill I found, I got used to cooking by myself and I really like it.

Your use of ’get used to’ is appropriate and mostly correct, and there are a few other corrections.
’The first problem I faced : I ’m not used to . .’ OR
’The first problem I was faced with : I’m not used to . .’
’. . I’m afraid of getting lost . .’
’I’ve not (yet) got used to making new friends ’
’However* I'm used to balancing study(ing) and my free time’
*If you start a sentence with ’though’ you must add a contingent clause : ’though I’m used to balancing study with my other commitments, I still found it hard to strike the balance after I had moved to the city’.
’. . one unexpected skill I found : I have* got used to . .’
*present perfect because it still applies at the time of writing [given the first sentence ’I’m just getting used to living on my own’ ie. this process is still continuing]
This is a very useful expression in English, and you have demonstrated a good understanding of how it is used.
