I'm British. It looks to me like either cottage cheese or curds. Both are common here but cottage cheese is much more so. They look similar so it's hard to tell which it is from a picture. It's not cream cheese. That looks totally different. To my knowledge, we call nothing farmer's cheese. I've heard of quark but don't know what it is and haven't seen it for sale.
