The Importance of teaching foreign languages at an early age This article will shed light on the fact that the importance of an early start can't be overstated. It will also give an insight into the benefits that teaching children starting at an early age brings. And also it emphasizes that Early childhood education gives a solid foundation in grammar, phonetics and vocabulary of the target language. Often ignored but the importance and benefits of which can not be overstated is an Early start. It allows Children to master the four necessary skilss. Listening, Reading, writing and the most challenging one, Speaking. According to R.Mosiman, who wrote the book called Unlocking your child's intellectual potential, and cognitive devolopment scientists, a child's brain is like a sponge that we see in our kitchen. It sucks in water quite fast and holds it until you squeeze it. A child's brain works just like that. They are young, and always listening and observing what is around. What seems like a problem that one often chooses to turn a blind eye to is the health benefits of our kids and also a better IQ score. Parents are not aware ,often, of the fact that they kids might have hearing problems or difficufty in seeing things. In early education, teachers may detect and warn the parents of problems their kids are facing. Also Children who start learning languages early tend to achieve fluency in their target language and do better on IQ tests. Regarding the benefits that starting at a young age brings, they are as follows: Fluency. Lexicology Phonetics Sentence construction. Ability to think in the foreign language that they are learning.
