I, as a"middle easter", respect all american people. Nobody can deny that americans have contributed to world (Arabs have also massive contributions to the humanity bytheway). On the other hand however, the goverment have commited (and still but indirectely) crimes in the name of"Democracy" and "Freedom" and I believe Iraq and Afghanistan wars are a clear example. OUR PROBELM HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, NOR WITH RELEGION, BUT RAHTER WITH THE GOVERMENT.

@Royal Shiny - As far as I am aware, the number system that we rely on so heavily today originated in the East. Imagine, if it weren't for all those 1s and 0s you wouldn't be able to create discussions fawning over the US and the West. Also, you should probably double-check your sources, I'm pretty sure cars, TVs, and bikes weren't invented by the Yanks.

It's simple. They're the world's biggest superpower. With great power comes great influence. 

Even exchange rates are compared to the US Dollar. It's always been this way - the world falls under the influence of the most powerful nation at the time; think back to ancient Rome, Greece, even Great Britain. America and England are the two reasons English has become a global language. The significant economical, industrial and military might of the U.S. makes them the center of the world's attention. It's natural that countries want to be allied with superpowers, and thus inevitably with diplomatic relations comes a flow of ideas, goods, people. America tends to produce bigger, better things with all their money, and this in turn creates popularity.
