I am learning hindi because I absolutely love the Indian culture. I enjoy hindi music and bollywood. Hopefully one day I can make it to India

I don't know why I began learning Hindi; I know I was interested in language at the time. This strange place with all these snaky scripts, where they 'laugh' and shake 'no' to say 'yes' was interesting. Indians talk to you like a person, have awesome food (mushroom pickles, ferkrisnasake!), throw a pirated movie into your groceries, have intermissions at a movie, teach you that "vanakkam thalaivere" is the 'correct' way to say hi, and the ones I met at that time were generally pretty cool, sort of at home wherever they went, kind of like a big family.
