The answer is quite simple. People don't succeed in life because they don't do their best in their tasks. Normally people prefer do things any which way, they prefer spend hours on youtube wasting time, gossiping, complaining about life, blaming the boss, the president, the dog, everybody for his misfortunes. For this kind of people, words like "hard-work", "faith", "determination", don't exist.
