Sueyanglala, a more interesting essay topic would be, "How do people cheat in public exams?  How should the authorities deal with the problem?"

In my university, if a student get caught in the exam, he will be punished. He won't get expelled, but he can't get his degree certificate. There's no difference between expelling a student and revoking certificate. A person without degree certificate will not be hired by the large company, especially government agency.<o:p></o:p>

A law is passed and enforced in Chinese College Entrance Examination this year. The cheating students will be in jail, up to 7 years. It’s more serious than expelling.<o:p></o:p>

All I can say is, dishonesty costs dearly.<o:p></o:p>

In reality, most schools penalise cheaters by giving the them zero marks in the exam.  They do not expel the students.  This topic is very narrow and old-fashioned in that it focuses on expulsion as a subject for discussion.    If I were you I would not pick this topic for an essay.

well i always prefer open books exam especially at university. some people like me are not really good in memorizing words or formulas but it doesn't mean that they didn't learn they lessons well .you know i mean maybe we should change our examination methods ...

Are you seriously saying that this topic has come up in a TOEFL test before?
