when I send Spanish e mails, it is difficult because my keyboard is not set up for this.
for example, I want to say " years" in Spanish, but "anos" without the tilde definitely doesn't mean "years".

If your real keyboard layout is similar to the standard US layout you may change to the 'US International' keyboard to get the accented characters (and other like: ñ¿) under the right Alt key.

If using Windows 10, to add a keyboard layout:
Click on the Start Menu. It's the Windows icon in the bottom left corner.
Click on Settings.
Click on Time & language.
Click on Region & language.
Click on the language you wish to add a keyboard layout to.
Click on Options.
Click on Add a keyboard.
Click on the keyboard you want to add.
Then, to change from one layout to the other, press windows key + space bar.
If using Mac, I don't know (Google probably does).
