Hi! I really like Spanish idioms, although I don't use them much. Thanks for this lesson. I enjoyed it a lot. A Spanish idiom that I have heard a lot is: la vaca no se acuerda cuando fue ternera. This is used when people forget that they were once children and judge their children without being empathic.

Hi

I am confused if this is about Spanish idioms or English ones. The first example you translate as slow as a snail, but the Spanish word is Tortuga, which is turtle or tortoise. Why not say slow as a turtle? English speakers would get that.

I would think a purely Spanish idiom is 

Me chupo el dedo

it poorly translates into English as I suck my thumb. But I understand it to mean “I really don’t believe you”.

Hi Blanca, thanks for the article. Can you help me understand why you use "snail" for Tortuga? (I'd always presumed it was a turtle, no?)
