Writing the Cyrillic Alphabet I have found a couple of websites offering how to write the cursive Russian alphabet, however, I was curious as to how you properly print block letters in the Russian alphabet...especially ц, щ, ж, я, and д.

You can use the russian configuration to your keyboard layout. It's a very simple way to be able to write any cyrilic characters without depending of any site or software. Good luck!

You are right. "Ж" ([G]) is just as "X" with line in the middle, without curves on top/bottom. And "Д" ([D]) like "A" with extend bottom line, and two small lines on the edges are running down.

I guess the д and ж throw me off.  I understand how to write them in cursive, but in the printed version, I'm not sure how they are supposed to be written.  Is it just an "x" with a line through it?  Is it improper to not embellish with the curves on top/bottom?  And for the д is it just like an "A" only with the bottom lines extended?

It's very simple. Ц, Щ, Ж, Я. They print ditto, as they wrote here. And Д as D, if this is cursive, and д as g, if this is small letter. For example: http://www.elavtkms.ru/download/stories/ms_gamma/Shkola/Posobiy/Tabl/Nachalo/Rysskiy/Rysskiy%20alfavit.doc
