It was a rough day

( cuz as the gentlemen said it's not good ( forbidden in islam ) to "insult" the time as general )

مررت اليوم بصعوبات أو مشكلات

I had some dificulties or problems this day

I think it's all depending on the situation ..

but in general , .. i would prefer to say :

واجهتُ اليوم صعوبات

or

مررتُ بمشاكل أو أزمة أو شجار

and preferable you say in the last :

و معَ ذلك وَ الحمد لله

or

أتمنى أن تحلَ مشاكلي باذن الله ..
