What is your opinion about language learning apps?
When I first moved to China, I started studying Chinese using an app called Hello Chinese. That is the only thing had used until I finished it after about nine months. Occasionally I would take a glance at other options, but I was just more comfortable with Hello Chinese. My logic was that I might as well only study this for the time being since I was forgetting a lot of words that I had learned from it anyways.
In my opinion, the app gave me a head start, a good head start. When I finished the app, I was good at Chinese and could say ablot of BASIC things, but that really helped me out here in China.
After that, I was able to speed three a few Chinese text books, basic ones, because I already knew a lot.
The more I studied Chinese, and even when finishing the app, I noticed how much Chinese I was still missing. I use another app called Chinese Skill, which is similar to Hello Chinese, but Chinese Skill teaches you a lot more. Now, I use that, textbooks, and a few other things to learn Chinese. Outside.of using textbooks and such I still feel like a great deal of what I am learning is coming from the app, Chinese Skill.
What is your opinion about language learning apps?
I tried using duolingo to learn Spanish. But too lazy to proceed after two weeks. But some of my friends actually got a head start by using that app. so my answer to your question is using app do work, if you know what you are doing and have determination.

I never used such apps, yet I think some of them might be good. If I were you, I'd use Anki instead of Hello Chinese.
