maybe you have to start communicating with natives and see for yourself? You can't learn any language until you start talking it. So, you will know yourself how much you have to improve it, just when you start having real conversations with native speakers.

I suggest you that try to communicate with a native English speaker and always read the fiction and non fiction English books.

These are the best way for learning any language.

From my own experience, 4000 words is enough to read and to communicate in a simple way. I learned this amount of words in two years using an app. I can read and understand people very well. When it comes to speak it is more difficult because even I know the meaning of the words I have to change the way I think.
