我了解这个人。=I know this person.

了解情况后再发言！Speak before know the situation.

"了解”是第一步，然后才是“理解”。=First to konw,then to understand.

我懂了！=I see !/I got it !  懂了吗？= Understand？/ Do you get the picture? 我懂英语。=I can speak English.

她懂如何照顾人。=她懂得如何照顾人。=She konw how to take care of people.

听我说！=Listen to me! 听得清楚吗？=Can you hear me?

看那里！  Look over there! 看得见吗？Can you see that?

The differences between × and ×得 is delicate.Sometimes It's like 她懂如何照顾人。=她懂得如何照顾人。

while in "听我说！=Listen to me! 听得清楚吗？=Can you hear me?",听≠听得。

理解：

1.这个孩子读了这篇故事，但不能理解它的意思。The child read the story but did not comprehend its meaning.

2.民主建立在善意和相互理解的基础上。Democracy is based on good will and mutual understanding.

了解：

1.我们应该让公众了解事情的真相。We should let the public know the truth.

2.你了解了事故的详细情况了吗?Have you learned the particulars of the accident?

懂得：

1.她不懂得如何享受生活。She didn't know how to live.

2.你懂得怜悯这个字是什么意思吗？Do you understand what the word pity means?

懂：

如果你懂我的意思的话。If you know what I mean.

There is little difference between 懂得&懂.

理解比较书面化,一般不在口头用；了解是对事物的初步接触和认识，在广东话中也当“明白”讲；

懂，是弄明白understand的意思；懂得，基本懂这个意思更书面的表达，或者在后面要跟副词等其他描述懂这个词的情况下。在中文，得，是后面要跟形容词、副词的一个标志。

理解 vs. 了解

理解 is associated with reasoning; not only is the surface information received, but also what is underneath, like the seriousness of the situation or the motive. If I have to translate 我无法理解 into English, I'd go for “It's beyond my comprehension.”

我以为自己很了解他，但是我实在不能理解他昨天为什么要那么说。

你怎么理解这个问题？ = 你对这个问题有什么样的理解？("How would you interpret that?")        你对这个问题了解多少？(－> asking about knowledge, opinion not required)

我对他们的制度一点也不了解，所以没办法提供什么意见。

我在这里住两年了，还是常常遇到很难理解的现象，看来我该多花一些时间了解这里的文化。

我不懂你为什么要这样说。

他刚来这里的时候，因为文化背景不同，很多人都以为他不懂礼貌。

他说的话，我一个字也听不懂！ （-> which may result in 我不了解他想说什么）

懂不懂？

懂得

懂得分享，不只是了解分享的重要，更要能实际去做。

懂得感恩，才能过得幸福。

不懂得拒绝的人，因为对什么都不会说“不”，最后一定会很累。

如果有人说你是个懂得生活的人，通常表示他觉得你有品味。
