Bamboo@ I don,t do any special progress in German. I revise from time to time, I watch TV, I have 4 or 5 books written in German, which I like and I would like to put into practice. These books inspire me, but sometimes I just don,t have to see them. I,m in process of learning, I didn,t quit with German, same as with English. What you Bamboo? Of course! It means you are very healthy. Why a fiddle should be fit, that I do not know. Perhaps the fi-fi rime introduced this expression. There are more idioms. I am sick as a dog, for example. But dogs are not that often sick either. In the Netherlands we say we are as healthy as a fish. I guess that idiom was introduced before the pollution of the waters by industry in th 19th century. Some fish are really sick!
