I proposed a question to people from Europe, America and Asia: If you have a chance and time to learn a western language without any purpose, which language do you prefer? It'a amazing that I only got 1 answer: FRENCH. Cause they think French is the most beautiful language in the world.
When I was a school girl, read it from Alphonse Daudet's The Last Class. After that heard and saw it via TV, magzines, internet... Daudet says so cause it is under the French failure during Franco-Prussian war. He loves his motherland. Media says that cause people think so.

I learnt French from the age of 4 as my mother was a French teacher,but today I find Spanish and Italian to be far more beautiful.The question of which language is the most beautiful is very subjective.
