About Korean music group 'Ssingssing' Last week I found a very interesting Korean music group on Youtube. They sing music inspired by Korean traditional folk song "Minyo". Actually I learned about "Minyo" in school, but I didn't enjoy listen to "Minyo" because I thought that it is very outdated and boredom. Actually it has been continuing just as mere cultural asset. But they sing this Minyo with modern western instruments such as electric guitar, drum and etc. It is the kind of fusion music but the song and background music are not disparate and it's really modern, sexy and fun. All vocals are expert of Minyo so their vocalization follow the way of traditional Minyo. I think that it is a attractive point. Their costume is to express a Korean shaman, "Baksoo" which is a male shaman but they wear female costume and speak in woman's voice when they participate worship.
